Host Giles Fraser () invites Dr Omar Alí-de-Unzaga, head of the Qurʾanic Studies Unit at IIS, The Revd Lucy Winkett, Rector of St James’s Church on Piccadilly, and Ai Hishii, Director at the Japanese garden landscape architecture practice momiji design, to discuss gardens in historical, contemporary, and religious architecture.

This podcast was recorded in the rooftop at the Aga Khan Centre, London. The Garden of Life was inspired by the great gardens of the Mughal Empire. The water flowing in channels through the quadrilateral chahar bagh garden layout echoes the Kashmiri waterfalls of late Mughal gardens and the narrow, elegant channels of their early counterparts.
